I built this ordering website for a home bakery selling cakes, cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and seasonal boxes for local pickup.
The storefront gives each product its own photos, description, price, and ordering options. The weekly menu can be updated depending on what the bakery is offering, and unavailable products can be hidden until they return.
Customers can:
- browse the current menu
- choose quantities and available options
- add products to their cart
- select a pickup date and time
- leave allergy or pickup notes
- pay for their order online
There’s a separate request form for custom cakes. It collects the event date, serving size, cake flavor, filling, frosting, shape, color theme, inscription, dietary notes, and preferred pickup date.
Customers can upload inspiration photos as well.
A custom request is not automatically accepted when the form is submitted. The bakery can review the details, check its schedule, adjust the price if necessary, and contact the customer before confirming anything.
The private bakery dashboard is part of the website.
It shows regular orders, custom-cake requests, payment status, customer information, and scheduled pickup times. Each order can be moved through a simple status process:
- new
- baking
- ready for pickup
- collected
The dashboard also creates a combined prep list for the selected day. Instead of checking every order separately, the bakery can see the total number of each product that needs to be made.
For example:
- 4 cookie boxes
- 3 cupcake boxes
- 2 cinnamon-roll pans
- 1 custom cake
Pickup availability can be controlled from the admin area. Dates or time slots can be closed once the bakery reaches capacity, which prevents customers from selecting times that are no longer available.
Product names, photos, descriptions, prices, and availability can all be managed without changing the website’s main layout.
The current name—Amelia Rose Bakehouse—is only sample branding. The logo, colors, products, written content, contact details, pickup location, and bakery policies can be changed for the buyer.
This listing includes more than the public storefront.
The website connects the important parts of the ordering process:
- product browsing
- custom-cake requests
- cart and checkout
- online payment
- pickup scheduling
- order management
- daily preparation
It can be used by a home bakery, cottage-food business, cake decorator, dessert studio, or another local baking business that works through preorders and scheduled pickups.
The website is responsive, so customers can comfortably view the menu and place orders from a phone, tablet, or computer.
